GCE A Level in Film Studies

Film Studies is a course that equips you with a wide range of analytical skills related to the moving image. It develops an understanding of the theories and debates that underpin film and cinema. Lessons concentrate on textual analysis, understanding the film and cinema industries and specific movements in film history. The full A-level is achieved on successfully completing the AS/A2 qualifications. In the AS year two modules are studied: FM1 Exploring Film Form & FM2 British and American Film. In A2 there are two more modules: FM3 Film Research and Development & FM4 Varieties of Film Experience.
