This qualification involves food and beverage service and professional cookery, ideal for young people with a Level 1 qualification. It takes into account the latest approach to food safety, health and safety legislation and current practices. This is a taught programme with graded assessments in food and drink service, menu knowledge and design, applying work place skills and event planning. There are practical food service sessions, lectures and tutorials. The course is based on realistic work practice which includes the running of a commercial restaurant and coffee shop.
