Building on the areas covered in the HNC, the course will consist of seven modules within your subject specialism and one Core Module. The core module 'Preparation, Process and Production in the Creative Arts' deals with the practical application of skills and techniques within preparation and production. It will take you from an initial idea right through to the actual performance. This will culminate in a professional piece of theatre or dance which you will perform to an audience. You will develop and produce work to a professional standard whilst continuing to study a range of dance/acting techniques. You will have the opportunity of participating in work experience and the course is designed to be flexible to meet and build upon your skills in dance, acting or musical theatre. As with the HNC, this course is intensive and you will be expected to engage in informed debate about current issues in the performing arts and consider the contexts through which your own art form has evolved.
