If you work or wish to work in schools supporting teaching and learning, then this course is for you. It is ideal for teaching assistants working under the direction of the teacher. This course will enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in the school environment. It is suitable for both employed and voluntary teaching assistants. You have a choice of possible option units such as preparing and maintaining the learning environment or displays. There are further option units including Special Educational Needs.

They will visit you in the workplace to carry out observations of your work. You will also discuss your work as a teaching assistant and complete log sheets. There are also written assignments to complete. You need to complete units on: - Child development, - Ssafeguarding the welfare of children, - Health and safety, - Behaviour, - Relationships, - Equality, diversity and inclusion.
