This course will develop learners' understanding of and skills in pre-production. It covers planning and resourcing requirements, such as how to locate resources and how to organise their deployment, for production and post-production in relation to the design and construction of modern websites. (Learners will also develop their understanding of health, safety and legal issues in relation to pre-production.) One of the aims of this course is to introduce learners to the basic tools and techniques of digital graphics software used to produce images for interactive web delivery. Learners will develop skills in using digital imaging software by producing digitally manipulated visual material. They will experiment with graphic styles used to set mood and theme in the design of a fully interactive web site and reflect critically on their own work. The course will develop learners' understanding of and skills in interactive media design. Learners will explore copyright, ownership and the various laws which apply to interactive media design work. They will learn how to apply design principles to create a fully interactive and feature rich website using the very latest in Html5 and CSS3 techniques.
