Engineering Technology (Electrical) Level 2 VRQ Diploma

This course is aimed at people who want to work in the Electrical Engineering. The programme will provide the basic knowledge and understanding for those wishing to progress in the Electrical Sector. The qualification provides a grounding in basic skills, knowledge and understanding of common engineering practices, along with a grasp of safe working practices which are essential for anyone seeking to build a career in any type of engineering. The focus is on electrical practical skills and knowledge which ensure that you gain practical experience in our workshop and have some expectation of some of the situations that you could face in a job role within the engineering sector. This qualification does not require workplace evidence. Course Content The course builds technical knowledge and practical skills. The theory content of the syllabus is approximately 60% and the practical elements amount to around 40%. The course consists of two qualifications: 1. NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations Units: Working Safely In An Engineering Environment; Working Efficiently And Effectively In Engineering; Using And Communicating Technical Information; Wiring And Testing Electrical Equipment And Circuits; Forming And Assembling Electrical Cable Enclosure And Support Systems; Assembling And Testing Electronic Circuits. 2. VRQ Level 2 Certificate in Engineering and Technology (Electrical) Units: Engineering Environment Awareness; Engineering Techniques; Engineering Principles; Electrical and Electronic Principles. Any candidate that does not hold the relevant Functional Skills qualification or equivalent will be required to take that qualification in addition to those outlined above in order to pass the course.
