This course is aimed at school-leavers and adults who are considering working in the construction industry. It is the first step towards qualifications which will prepare candidates for a wide range of careers in the sector. On completion of the course it is possible for students to progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma. From there, students are qualified to enter the industry at technician-level or move on to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction. Course Content The syllabus comprises a series of units building knowledge in construction. 1. Introduction to the construction industry 2. Investigating health, safety and welfare 3. Construction science and mathematics 4. Construction processes and operations 5. Construction methods and techniques 6. Construction drawing techniques 7. Functional Skills Mathematics 8.
