The course aims to expand the ability of students to constructively analyse pieces of writing. The written exam is worth 60% of the final marks. -Exam paper -Section A: Analysis of a set text -Section B: Assessment of writing In addition you are required to produce four pieces of coursework related to different aspects of Reading and Writing, as well as a Speaking and Listening assessment. -Coursework -English Today: -Compare and contrast -Writing on a theme -Spoken language -Spoken language study task -Writing for spoken language These areas are assessed for Speaking and Listening assessment: -Communicating and adapting language -Interacting and responding and creating and sustaining a role
