The course is an informative, challenging and enjoyable year during which you will be able to experience new creative ideas and work processes, engage with students and tutors and make successful progress to your chosen degree or career destination. It will also be a period of intensive, rapid study with emphasis placed on the capacity for critical analytical thinking, research, experimentation and the capacity to respond positively to constructive critical appraisal of work. You will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of disciplines, including painting and drawing, life studies, 3D studies in sculpture, design, textiles, printmaking, graphic communications, time-based media and contextual studies. The foundation diploma allows you to choose your specialist area with a view towards Higher Education.
