There are two units covering the fundamentals of chemistry: atomic structure, periodic table, quantitative chemistry and applications (cosmetics, cooking, industrial). These two units are assessed by two written examinations in June. The third unit consists of practical topics and a report on a 'science in the news' story and is assessed internally.
