Emphasis is placed on studio based dance classes. Modules include Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Improvisation and Choreography, Anatomy and Physiology, Performance and Repertoire, Contextual Studies, Collaborative Project, Choreographic Performance Project and Dance Techniques including jazz dance and commercial dance. Students also engage with fitness classes to include yoga, conditioning and strength training. Students undertake work placement as part of the Community Dance Practice module to develop skills in teaching and leading dance. Learners will receive an vibrant programme of guest lecturers and master-classes to maintain skills at the cutting edge of thinking and practice and provide essential industry links. Previous visiting companies include Mark Bruce Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatre, James Wilton Dance Company, Bonachela Dance Company, Frantic Assembly, Aakash Odedra Company and Foundation for Community Dance as well as a range of local Community Dance Artists.
