Automotive Study Programmes provide learners with the opportunity to study both the theory and practical aspects of a range of routine maintenance and repair activities in a workshop environment. Learners gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, agreeing customer vehicle needs and other skills associated with working in a garage. Learners work on a wide range of vehicle systems including engine lubrication, cooling and fuel systems, chassis systems including brakes, steering and suspension and electrical areas ranging from engine electrics to body electrical systems, including climate control and electrically operated windows and doors. All tools and equipment from basic hand tools to the latest computer aided diagnosis and scanning equipment are used and hybrid vehicle and engine training rigs are available for practicing larger jobs. All training and assessment carried out by Automotive Industry trained and certified practitioners.
