Is this the right course for me? This course is aimed at learners moving on from Tap - Beginners Plus on the tutor's advice. You will have covered all the basics at Level 2 and now want to work towards Level 3. What will I learn? Revision of basic steps but with greater technique and speed. Light and shade development. More complex rhythms and combinations. Greater glossary of steps - particularly time steps - and introduction to tricks. Greater use of arms. Dance routine developing a higher artistic and technical performance. How will I learn? Teacher demonstrations, discussions, information sheets where needed - but most of the course is practical. Will I gain a qualification? Examinations are available under the American Association of Dancing as Performance Medals. These are not compulsory. What can I do next? When you have attained the required standard you may progress to the intermediate tap class, or you may wish to extend your dance styles and try ballet or jazz dancing. What do I need to bring to the classes? Loose, comfortable clothing - you will get hot. Tap shoes need to be purchased for this class. If you are unsure what to buy, information on where to buy, style and price will be given in the first class. Please check before purchasing anything that the course is running. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? You may contact the tutor, Lorraine Gregory-Ring, on 01604 705028 (answer machine available).
