Is this the right course for me? This course is NOT suitable for a complete beginner but would suit you if you have done some ballet in the past and would like to take it up again, or have considerable experience of other types of dance. The emphasis is on having fun and learning in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. What will I learn? We shall cover all aspects of ballet (stance, barre work) and a routine of high classical content. You will improve your fitness and musicality. How will I learn? The tutor will demonstrate steps and technique. There will be a steady progression from the simplest steps to more difficult movements. You will work on basic routines to string steps together. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor. What can I do next? You may wish to re-enrol on the ballet class next term or on another dance course offered by Community Learning MK. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please wear comfortable clothing such as a track suit or leggings. The tutor will discuss the purchase of ballet shoes with you on the first night.
