Reflexology

UPDATED 20160406 11:49:17

Is this the right course for me? Reflexology is a safe, natural therapy and can aid in the relief of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. It treats the whole body and may help to reduce tension and stress, increase circulation and improve nerve supply, encourage elimination of impurities and toxins, revitalize and balance the body's systems and give a feeling of well-being. If you have any of the above in your life then this is the course for you! This course is suitable for work with family and friends but not adequate for treating clients. What will I learn? You increase your understanding of the holistic practice of reflexology as well as being able to carry out a full treatment on the feet. The course will also cover how to perform a reflexology routine safely, how reflexology can help with common conditions like stress, migraines, IBS, back problems, contra-indications circumstances when reflexology may not be suitable, how to make a foot chart and the history of Reflexology. How will I learn? You will learn through a hands on practical approach, practicing on other students and friends & family, case studies, handouts, observation and tutorials. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor if you request one at the beginning of the course. What can I do next? You may wish to try one of the many other alternative therapy courses offered by Community Learning MK. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please bring along towels x 2, pillows / cushions x 2, pen and paper and baby wipes and foot cream or oil. Reflexology balm can be purchased from tutor on week 2 for £10. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? It is usually possible to put you directly in touch with the tutor if a member of the Community Learning MK staff cannot answer your query.
