Cookery - Traditional Bakes

Is this the right course for me? This is a course aimed at complete beginners who want to learn to make a range of basic traditional cakes, biscuits and tarts for example Chelsea Buns, Victoria Sandwich cake or Treacle Tart. What will I learn? You will learn to prepare and cook a range of traditionally baked goods using a variety of different skills. How will I learn? You will learn by following guidance, demonstrations and 1-to-1 support given by the tutor then making your own products. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor if you request one at the beginning of the course. What can I do next? If you enjoy this course then you could look at one of the other courses in our range to widen your skill set in the kitchen. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please note for Week 1 of your course go to Stantonbury Leisure Centre reception where you will be met by a Community Learning MK representative. Please bring to class a notepad and pen, sharp knife, set of electronic scales (if possible), tea towel, oven gloves, washing up liquid. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? It is usually possible to put you directly in touch with the tutor if a member of the Community Learning MK staff cannot answer your query.
