Suitable for Entry Level and Career Changers. The aim of this programme is to develop the basic specialist skills and knowledge in pastry, bakery and confectionery work enabling learners to progress into a career in the Hotel and Catering Industry. This unique 12 week course is suitable for anyone wishing to work in the future in the patisserie and bakery sector. This course is particularly suited to those wanting to make a career change and have no professional catering experience. This course is 80% practical craft based and 20% theory covering working in a professional catering environment, introduction to basic craft fundamentals, food safety and health and safety. Those who successfully complete this course can progress onto the Patisserie Level 2 course at Westminster Kingsway College. Advice will also be given on seeking employment in one of London's many pastry kitchens to aid you to develop a future career and explore opportunities in the field of patisserie and confectionery.
