OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUES

This course combines tuition of basic techniques in oil painting for beginners and more challenging projects for students with experience. It aims to develop individual potential, both technical and creative, and will cover the qualities of oils and how to approach various projects to develop skills and knowledge. Projects are set as starting points throughout the year, with the option to follow these or work on your own subject matter. A basic set of oils or Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow and White. Bristle brushes - one large and one small. A3 or A4 sketch books are available to buy from the College. There is an option to register for an NCFE qualification. Your tutor will discuss the details with you at the start of the course and if you choose this route you will be enrolled onto the qualification. There will be extra costs to take the qualification.
