The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels. You will cover eighteen units over the two years. There are six core units covering areas such as: Health and Safety, Construction Technology, Building Technology and Sustainable Construction. The aim of these core units is to give an overview of the industry as a whole. The remaining units provide a wide range of skills and techniques that will enable you to pursue your chosen career pathway. These areas include Surveying and Setting Out, CAD, Civil Engineering and Converting and Adapting Buildings. Many of the units including Project Management, Management Techniques and Employment Framework have transferable skills. Overall you will achieve a wide range of skills that will allow you to specialise in many areas of construction at the next level.
