Is this the course for me? This course is suitable for learners wishing to explore the world of watercolours and also for those wanting to improve their techniques. Please note that all classes have mixed ability learners. What are the aims of the course? To learn new techniques and to develop and improve existing skills in watercolour techniques. What are the main areas covered in the course? Learning outcomes are negotiable for learners on the course and may include the following art techniques: • Brush strokes, shading, colour, tone, form and texture • Basic colour theory • Wet on dry/ wet on wet • Dry brush and overlaying washes • Planning of individual project work with a variety of studies to choose from • Safe working practice Materials & equipment: The tutor will advise you what to purchase for the course at your first session. What can I do after successfully completing the course? Further study can be undertaken in other art classes. What skills or knowledge do I need for entry to this course? No previous knowledge or skills are needed.
