Is this the course for me? This course is for anyone with an interest in drawing and painting. Bring out the creative side of you in art by using a mixture of media. What are the aims of the course? To develop skills in drawing and painting with the ability to use and work in a variety of mediums. What are the main areas covered in the course? Learning outcomes are negotiable for learners on the course and include: • Exercises in drawing and painting to develop skills • Art techniques such as shading, tone and form • Using pencils and other media • Planning individual project work • Basic painting techniques • Safe working practice Materials & equipment Please bring a sketch pad, 2B pencil and soft rubber to the first class. Your tutor will advise you at your first session about other materials required. What can I do after successfully completing the course? Further study can be undertaken in other art classes. What skills or knowledge do I need for entry to this course? No previous knowledge or skills are needed.
