Is this the course for me? This course is for learners who want to learn about preparing meals and using alternative ingredients to add taste and flavour, and to add a twist to favourite dishes. What are the aims of the course? • To improve your skills and gain knowledge in ingredients and cooking methods. • To have an awareness of world ingredients to make your food choices more exciting. What are the main areas covered in the course? • Using a variety of ingredients • Using alternative preparation and cooking methods • Use of world foods to enhance flavours and textures • Awareness of safe working practices in the kitchen Please note- you will need to provide all your own ingredients, containers, ovenproof cookware, apron etc. Your tutor will advise you at your first session. What can I do after successfully completing the course? Take a further course in cookery or complete a qualification in Food safety. What skills or knowledge do I need for entry to this course? None.
