Is this the course for me? This course is for anyone who wants to learn the first steps in cooking skills and how to prepare simple, tasty food. What are the aims of the course? • To learn the basic skills for cooking simple foods. • To learn the safe preparation and storage of food. What are the main areas covered in the course? • Using a variety of ingredients • Using alternative preparation and cooking methods • Awareness of safe working practices in the kitchen Please note- you will need to provide all your own ingredients, containers, ovenproof cookware, apron etc. Your tutor will advise you at your first session. What can I do after successfully completing the course? Take a further course in cookery or take a qualification in Food safety. What skills or knowledge do I need for entry to this course? None.
