The course is suitable for the complete beginner who has never sewn before, students who have not sewn for sometime and require a refresher or for competent sewers who want to be more adventurous. You will work on a project of your own choice, for example a garment, cushion, seat cover, curtains or a blind. Learn the techniques to complete this project via small sewing tutorials and video demos to build up your knowledge and skills. The course will enable you to learn: How to use a sewing machine To understand the sizing of patterns Material suitability All processes necessary to complete a project successfully How to press correctly How to enlarge patterns or diminish them How to make a new garment from an old one, replacing zip, shortening and lengthening a garment Advice on suitable fabrics and where to buy them from
