This is a mixed ability course, where learners will have the opportunity to explore making and decorating techniques with available resources and to develop and adapt designs and or techniques of personal interest. Learners will be encouraged to make items of personal interest and explore making techniques of choice. What will I learn? Making techniques of pinching, coiling, slabbing, throwing & sculpting, depending on personal interest, to produce ceramic items. Decorating and finishing techniques using applied and impressed decoration, slips, glazing materials and glazes, again depending on personal interest. Guidance on the research and design process Comprehension and understanding of health and safety issues relating to working with ceramic materials
