Course Description: This one day course covers the basics of Food Safety in Catering. An Award at this level is the minimum standard for anyone working in the catering industry. Candidates referred by Job Centre Plus will need to attend a pre-course assessment session. You may be entitled to fully funded provision subject to meeting the following criteria: You are in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (Work Related Activity Group). Please bring photographic proof of identity to your first session. If you don't have photographic ID please bring two other forms of identity e.g. Bank card, Bank statement, utility bill, Council tax bill Attendance at ALL sessions is essential. If you miss a session you may be asked to leave the course. What will I learn? The importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved; Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling); Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers
