Waiters and waitresses usually work shifts which will include evenings, weekends and sometimes public holidays. This role can be very busy and you will need to be able to keep calm under pressure, whilst still maintaining a high standard of customer service. As a waiter or waitress your main duties would include, Greeting and seating customers, Taking food and drink orders, Serving food and hot and cold drinks, Taking payments, Working with other members of staff to ensure an efficient service and Tidying and maintaining tables.
