L2 Award in Ground Based Chainsaw Operations

This course is for those people who work or wish to work in the arboriculture or forestry profession. It involves both chainsaw maintenance and felling trees up to 380mm. Subjects covered include: Carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system; Carry out operational chainsaw checks; Knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry good practice; Cross-cut timber using a chainsaw; A range of felling techniques for trees up to 380mm diameter; Remove branches from felled trees using a chainsaw; Take down hung-up trees; Cross-cutting of felled trees.
