Acrylics and oils: for all

You will be studying painting and drawing techniques and "tricks of the trade". You will learn about colour mixing and paint handling through practical exercises and set projects and you will, of course, be creating your own finished works of art. Through every stage of the course you will be guided with constant tuition from your very well qualified and experienced tutor.

Entry requirements

As a beginner, you will need a basic 10-12 colour set of oil or acrylic paints, a pad of 140lb watercolour paper (no smaller than 16 ins. x 12ins.), an A2 drawing board, pencil, putty rubber and 1" masking tape. Improvers and more experienced students should bring their regular painting outfit and painting supports of their choice (canvas/oils or paper/acrylics) and an oil-painting paper sketch pad. Full details of recommended materials are available from your local centre. Will I need to do anything in my own time? Only if you wish to and are able to.
