This course is designed to lead on from the 1 Year AS Design & Technology Graphics AS Course. The course consists of two units at A2 level comprising: Unit 3: Design for the future (20% of Full GCE) This is a 2hour exam sat in June. The exam is mainly extended writing based questions and covers a range of topics including design in context, sustainability, systems and control and further study of Industrial and commercial practices. Unit 4: Commercial design (30% of full GCE) In this unit, students are given the opportunity to develop their design and make skills through a comprehensive and detail design and make assignment. This project will bring together all of the skills and all of the knowledge gained in the first 3 units. This an internally assessed piece of coursework.

Additional resources can be found by the school on www.fronter.com/wandsworth which pupils all have access to with their unique username and password. They will find an extensive array of reading and review material and also the main presentations and work covered across the units. Students should read around the subject and a dedicated area is set aside in the library specifically for design & technology students.
