This versatile subject is perfect for those who are interested in learning about the health and social care sector. Whilst some students may have studied BTEC or GCSE Health and Social care, it is not essential, although an interest in health and social care setting is vital. We cover a variety of different topics, including the factors affecting human development and explore what it is like to work in the health and social care sector, including roles and responsibilities of workers and organisations, such as following policies and procedures and understanding the roles of doctors, nurses, midwives and occupational therapists. Leading to: - Nursing - Education - Social work - Midwifery - Occupational therapists - Health care assistants Extra: Work experience is strongly encouraged and often provides excellent experience in the practical aspects of the course.
