Interested in films, radio, magazines, newspapers and more Thinking about a career in the media The Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media could provide you with the perfect start. Using our state-of-the-art television, radio and design studios, you will work across a range of subjects, for example directing your own documentaries, writing and recording radio dramas and creating professional-looking magazines. Your lecturers are all media professionals who will help you to develop the practical skills you need as well as showing you how to do the research and planning aspects of any production. The Level 3 Diploma comes in two parts: first, the Diploma in which you complete 90 credits in the first year and then, subject to satisfactory performance, the Extended Diploma with a further 90 credits. These units range from Music Video production to Journalism to Animation to Film Studies. We are also currently running units in Page Layout & Design and in Live TV Studio Production. As well as the product - video, radio, magazine etc. - you will also have to put together a file of research and planning for each project. We will show you how to present this work to near-professional standards and we will provide help with English if necessary. All our software is industry standard - Final Cut, Adobe Audition, Adobe Creative Suite etc. We will take you to the London Film Festival as well as events at the British Film Institute and BBC radio recordings. There is also an international trip - recently we've arranged study visits to Berlin, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

The grades are Pass, Merit or Distinction. Some of your work will be checked by another lecturer and a further sample will be inspected by an External Verifier from Edexcel, the organisation which awards the Level 3 Diploma. These systems mean that you are guaranteed a fair grade for your work according to national standards. There are a mixture of compulsory and optional units. We choose a balanced range of subjects making the best use of our lecturers' skills and experience and our technical facilities so that you end up with a broad understanding of the different aspects of the media industries.
