T'ai Chi Chuan 24 Step

This course will give students an overview of the whole art including Health, Martial and Meditative aspects so they are able to choose how they wish to develop what they learn through working with the movements of the 24 Step sequence of T'ai Chi Chuan. This sequence (or 'form') is a 10 minute set developed in Beijing to make T'ai Chi accessible to a wide range of people; it is an excellent introduction to and ideal for people who wish to explore the various aspects - healing, martial and meditational - of the art. The course will also include a number of simple exercises, 'Chi Kung' that can either be used as a stand-alone practice or to explore the foundation principles developed in the form. Students are encouraged to use these exercises build their own practice and integrate this in to their daily lives. Returning students will have the opportunity to join an extra half hour at the end of the class to continue with the second half of of the form. Develop an understanding of key principles. Begin a home practice for stress relief and well-being. Improve posture and breathing. Develop your existing learning through practise of form and partner work (Returning learners) For the first session you will need to bring: Loose clothing and soft shoes.
