The aim is to promote maximum independence and the development of skills needed for life after school, and to provide a variety of experiences both in and out of school. (See FE Policy) These include: life skills, vocational skills including work experience, world studies, physical skills and Literacy and Numeracy key skills. Pupils also work on independence skills including cooking, travel training, shopping. The courses offered are accredited through EQUALS and ASDAN. Examples of ASDAN modules in the PMLD FE class include Yogacise, Sport and Leisure, Multi-Sensory Experience, Myself and Others. Examples in the SLD FE class include Popular Culture and the Wider World. Examples of EQUALS modules in the PMLD FE class include Religion, Creativity and African Culture. Examples in the SLD/ASD FE class include Daily Living skills and Work Related Learning. Relationship and Sex Education is taught in a six week block in the summer term Entry Level 1 Qualification in Personal Progress (ASDAN) - Foundation Learning Tier is taught where appropriate Pupils attend College Courses where relevant including NESCOT for land based studies, Carshalton and Orchard Hill and SCOLA for adult education classes.
