Mathematics (Further)

UPDATED 20160323 12:19:51

Further Mathematics is a second mathematics qualification.  The course is ideal for students wishing to pursue Mathematics or a course containing a substantial mathematical content such as Engineering or Physics, at degree level.  It is a demanding course, requiring students to have good mathematical skills, indicated initially by having achieved a grade A/A* at GCSE, followed by successful achievement at AS/A-level Mathematics.  Students must be prepared to undertake some independent learning with teacher support If you have enjoyed higher tier GCSE Mathematics and have an interest in Problem solving and working with numbers this could be the A level for you.  It is an excellent subject to support Higher Education application choices, particularly in Mathematics, Engineering and Physics.
