Y13 The new specification focuses on the development of choreography and performing within a quartet and a solo of a practitioner studied. Students must create their own choreography. Students will receive training on technique and further knowledge skills on studied practitioners. Component 1: Performance and Choreography What's assessed - Solo performance linked to a specific practitioner within an area of study - Performance in a quartet - Group choreography How it's assessed - Practical exam - 80 marks - 50% of A-level Component 2: Critical Engagement What's assessed - Knowledge, understanding and critical appreciation of a compulsory set work and its location within a corresponding area of study. - Knowledge, understanding and critical appreciation of one optional set work and its location within a corresponding area of study. How it's assessed - Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes - 100 marks - 50% of A-level
