Why should I follow this course? This is a ONE year course, equivalent to three GCSE passes at grade C or above. You will learn about the importance of businesses, how they operate and look into the financial aspects of running a business. You will gain skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life. The emphasis is on applied learning and assessment. If you are good at coursework and are a good team player then this is the course for you. What will I learn? Enterprise in the business world Finance for business Principles of marketing Promoting a brand Introducing retail business Recruitment, selection and employment Building successful business teams Financial planning and forecasting Using business documentation Providing business support Principles of customer service Enhancing the customer experience What teaching and learning methods will be used? The course is practical with a mixture of teacher-led activities, guest speakers and visits to local businesses. What can I do when I have my qualification? When you have successfully completed this course you may progress to either AS courses at the centre or elsewhere, or to BTEC level 3 courses. For AS courses at this centre you will need to achieve a merit in your level 2 course. This course is also excellent preparation for employment or training, especially in business.
