An A-Level in ICT is an important qualification. All employers expect young adults to be digitally literate. An A-Level in ICT will prove that you are an advanced user of ICT and help separate you from the crowd. This course allows you to continue to develop your practical skills through the coursework elements while also enhancing your technical knowledge in the theory units AS Unit 1: Information, Systems and Applications This unit covers all the essential advanced level ICT theory. Topics covered include: o Data, information, knowledge & processing o Software and hardware components of an information system o Characteristics of applications software and application areas o Spreadsheet concepts o Relational Database concepts o Applications software used for presentation and communication of data o The role and impact of ICT AS Unit 2: Structured ICT Tasks The exam board will provide a coursework scenario, asking you to complete a set of 4 advanced ICT tasks. You may be asked to design, implement or test your solutions.
