History can be fascinating and thought provoking and leads to a series of conclusions about the nature of nations and people that help us understand the world and societies in which we live. So much of major significance has occurred recently, including the Arab-Israeli Conflict and the War on Terror, which can only be fully understood in its historical perspective.
