The course begins with an introduction to the main art and design disciplines: painting and drawing; textiles/fashion; and graphic design. After this initial diagnostic experience the course becomes more student centred and offers the opportunity to begin specialist study in order to develop a relevant portfolio for successful UCAS specialist application. The history of art and contemporary theory and practise are studied alongside the practical elements of the course in order to inform and support the work.
