The course consists of a diverse range of skills and techniques that are delivered through an intense timetable of masterclasses, practical demonstrations and student led sessions that allow the student to build a wide range of fashion based practice. All briefs are delivered by industry professionals with lectures delivered by working practitioners and designers. Students will explore research technique and contextual study, methods and techniques for illustration and fashion design, pattern cutting and construction, applied decoration and garment manufacture. Projects delivered during 2014 included Denim, corsetry and Chinese evening wear. Students attend London exhibitions and Graduate Fashion Week to allow them to consider University progression and take part in fashion shows and Southsea Fashion Week to showcase their work to the public and industry.
