UPDATED 20160321 16:00:46

It's the study of society, it looks at how people live, behave and work together in groups. It asks questions about the world that we live in and tries to explain why it is the way it is. Ever wondered why baby girls wear pink and baby boys wear blue? Or why people commit crimes and what are we trying to achieve through punishment? Why do girls do better than boys at GCSE? Sociology helps provide explanations for all these and more. In Sociology you learn about all the things that go on in YOUR society. The AQA GCE Sociology course comprises of three units for AS level, The Family, Education Sociological Methods. There are a further three units for A level, Mass Media, Crime and Sociological Theory and Methods. Each level involves two examination papers. An AS/A level qualification in Sociology will help you in many sectors of employment including policing, nursing, teaching, law, medicine, social work and journalism.
