Drama & Theatre Studies - A Level

This course focuses on the practical exploration of performance texts, including exploring them in light of the work of theatre practitioners. The performance texts studied for the exam will require student's consideration of how they would perform certain roles, putting practical work at the heart of lessons. During the course you will devise your own work as well as perform extracts from plays. The course is very flexible allowing for you to input your ideas and creativity in order to choose plays and themes which are suitable for you. Drama develops skills required in various settings within the community and the future such as confidence and public speaking. Studying Drama could lead to careers in the performing arts, including acting, directing, producing, arts journalism and teaching. It also provides range skills appropriate to a variety of careers.
