A tough course designed for pupils with mathematical flair. Each year students cover two core maths units which develop their algebra and geometry and one applied maths unit; this might be statistics or decision maths. This is a highly respected qualification requiring hard work and determination to succeed. Pupils are required to work independently and be tenacious. You could take this course with other advanced level courses to prepare for higher education. A level mathematics is often an essential qualification for admission to degree courses in Engineering, Accountancy, Economics or Physics.
