Psychology

Psychology is a critical feature in every aspect of human life and performance. It is the science of the mind, behaviour and experience, looking at how individuals think, what they do and the way they are affected by their biological make up, their up-bringing and their wider social group. This course aims to give learners a broad knowledge of psychology and a sound understanding of the various issues, debates and perspectives that are currently shaping the field. It will also provide students with a good grounding in preparation for higher education and an awareness of how to apply psychology to everyday life and the world around them. As a science, it is valued by universities and employers for the critical analysis skills that are developed on the course. It is important to note that the course is suitable for students with no previous formal knowledge of psychology, provided they are curious about human nature.
