Media Studies A-level gives students exposure to a broad range of media including film, television, print media, advertising and new media and places the contemporary media in an historical context. Students will learn how to analyse the codes and conventions of the various media, how different groups are represented in the media and by whom, how audiences consume and make meaning from media texts and how media texts are affected by the institutions which create them. At the heart of Media Studies is the process of production. Through the coursework components, students have the opportunity to be creative and to develop technical media skills.
