Spanish

UPDATED 20160321 10:40:16

The course gives students the opportunity to develop and deepen their awareness and understanding of the language, as well as the cultural knowledge of the countries and communities where the language is spoken. The course encourages the development of valuable transferable skills, such as reading, listening and translation. In addition, students develop the ability to write critically and analytically about a film and a literary text. As part of the speaking test, students are required to conduct individual research on a subject of personal interest, relating to the country or countries where the language is spoken which will enable them to develop valuable research skills in the language of study. Presentation of this information will require them to select and present in the target language, as well as undertaking a discussion from one of the Areas of Study. Areas of Study will cover two broad themes, Social issues and trends and Political, artistic and intellectual culture
