This course will suit students who are planning to go on to further education or looking for a future in IT or business. The British Computer Society believes that 'these qualifications provide an appropriate level of knowledge and skills to meet a broad range of IT needs'. The qualification also supports learners wishing to progress to a range of university IT related degree programmes that lead to professional careers. In addition to developing their IT skills, students taking this course will develop their time management and organisations skills as well as their ability work independently. AQA Level 3 in IT for User Support largely consists of: written assignments, practical activities and observations. The foundation award is made up of 4 units, 2 of which are examinations (representing 50% of the qualification) covering a broad range of computer-related technology whilst the remainder are assignments. The course requires 360 Guided Learning Hours and units are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
