General Studies is the most popular AS level, compulsory in most independent and an increasing number of state schools. Studying General Studies is useful because it helps you to develop skills that are vital to your other A Level studies. It keeps your education broad and improves your general knowledge. It also shows universities and employers that you are a well-rounded individual who has formed views and opinions on a range of issues that confront the world today. At the end of Year 12 you have an AS qualification which may be useful when applying to universities.
