Business Studies

UPDATED 20161019 12:48:01

Business is an extremely popular and successful specialist subject. Our students achieve consistently high grades in the BTEC course, with the majority of students achieving from Merit to Distinction* grades. You will work in our excellent ICT rooms with outstanding teachers to develop your knowledge of the business world. This course is an extension to the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Business and in addition to the units studied on that course students will learn how to manage an event, how business works on an international scale and what the principles of management are. An eighth unit will be chosen for Year 13 depending on the students taking the course. You will take part in a Stocks and Shares competition with the ultimate prize being a trip to New York. You will have one examination to revise for, five pieces of coursework to complete and two controlled assessments to undertake in exam conditions. This Business course is delivered by enthusiastic, experienced and innovative staff, who are ideally placed to support and motivate you to succeed at a high level. In the most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2012), the subject area was rated as 'Outstanding'.
